Middle East Upheaval

I can't stop to think that this amass of revolutions, or revolutions-in-progress to be technically correct in some cases, would be a way for the under-represented strata of the society to try to impose their own beliefs. All revolutions stem from the premise of needing democratic systems in their governments.

Having democracy would then mean accepting and implementing beliefs & rules of those people who have a different theological/personal belief and/or are thinking to be officially recognised and respected by all citizens.

Hardliners from the status quo beliefs of the society would eventually clash with these minorities for infiltrating the country's status quo beliefs and democracy wouldn't have a mechanism to deal with that in purview of its "equality" laws. So who's ultimate purpose would these revolutions actually serve?

Food for thought.
